WHAT’S NEW?  Free Wind Mitigation Inspection in Orange & Seminole County FL!   How it works

This is a program administered by the Florida Department of Financial Services

“Get
READIER for Hurricanes!”
This is how the MSFH Program works. In a nutshell

1. Florida homeowner applies for a FREE wind mitigation inspection at  www.MySafeFLHome.com

2.Homeowner application is approved, & an assigned Inspection company reaches out to schedule your inspection.  The inspection generally takes 30 minutes to complete.

Amerihome Advisors, LLC is one of several local vendors for this program. The State will determine which company will be assigned to you.  Please do not schedule this inspection online from this website.

Within 7 to 10 days after the inspection,  the Homeowner will be sent a copy of their report which can be used for possible discounts off of your homeowners insurance premium.  If you are in need of upcoming renewal of your insurance policy, you may want to take advantage of this free offering.  A $125 valve!

If needed, we  offer a Four Point inspection on the Citizens or State Farm Forms, as a Stand-Alone inspection for $175 which in most cases can be scheduled for the same day, following the Wind Mitigation inspection.

If you happen to live in a high wind velocity area, then you can apply for the grant portion of this program to help reduce the cost of any high wind upgrade improvements.

Note: Good News & Bad News . . . most areas of Orange & Seminole county are outside of the high wind velocity area, however this is subject to change in the near future. In other words, currently, the grant program does not apply to most Orange & Seminole county residents.  However the Wind Mitigation portion of the program is offered for Free to Single Family homeowners.  It does NOT apply to Multi-family homes such as condos, town homes or mobile homes.  It applies to all of Orange and Seminole County.

In the event your property is identified as being in the high wind velocity area, then the below applies . . .

3. Inspection company provides homeowner with a detailed report identifying their home’s
strengths and weaknesses against storm wind, and identifies areas for retrofit upgrades.

4. Homeowner decides their next steps, if any.

5.
Qualified homeowners apply for a MSFH Grant from the Program to help reduce the cost of
their wind upgrade improvements.

6.
Homeowner is approved for a grant and supplied with a list of Program approved
contractors from whom to get bids for the construction work identified in their report and

covered by the MSFH program bids.

7.
Homeowner selects contractor and awards the MSFH Upgrade project.
8.
Contractor completes work which is re-inspected and then approved for payment.
9.
$5,000 Low Income grant money go directly to the contractor for the completed and
approved construction work. This is not a reimbursement grant.
